Brendan Rodgers told a press conference this afternoon at Melwood: "Daniel was very unfortunate that he got his injury at the end of last season, but what he has shown over the course of the off-season is his determination to be just that [a leading Premier League striker].He's shown in particular over the last few weeks since re-joining the group that with his power, his pace, his quality and his finishing that I believe he can be up there.

The 23years old is expected to play against Stoke City in Saturday opening game of the season at Anfield and Rogers is convince the striker can score more goals than the 11goals in managed in 16apperances for the club last season.
